We are a small, locally based company with a focus on preserving and maintaining healthy natural hair. HOW IT ALL BEGAN…
There weren’t a lot of options for natural hair care… but I needed SOMETHING!

I’ve always been a super-creative, multi-passionate person, so it was a natural step that I use my 20+ years of branding and design skills and married it with my 15 years of experience in the hair care industry to develop ORIGIN, a natural hair care brand focused melanated hair and skin.
After decades of mistreating my natural hair with chemicals and extreme high heat, I went completely natural in 2018, grew out all my relaxed hair and color and cut my hair short-short! I immediately thought, “What did I just do?”
A few weeks went by and I started settling into my new mane and quickly realized that while I didn’t need a lot of product for my hair, there wasn’t a lot of options on the market for Black women by Black women, but I needed something to keep my hair hydrated and growing.
That’s when I started researching what my hair needed. That led to mixing and testing essential oils… I created a blend of oils and then a hydrating spray.
By 2020, I was giving the oil to friends and family to try and something amazing happened… they kept asking for more because their hair was growing and hydrated and healthier! And so… ORIGIN was born.
